Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat to stream live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass

UFC FIGHT PASS announced an exclusive, multi-event distribution agreement with Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat, the mixed martial arts promotion led by UFC Hall of Famer and former bantamweight and featherweight sensation Urijah Faber.

Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat will debut on UFC FIGHT PASS on Sunday, May 1, at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT, live from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain in Sacramento, Calif., and will be headlined by the highly anticipated title fight between Jesse Tafoya (4-4) vs. Jack Duffey (4-0) for the A1 Combat Flyweight Championship.

To capitalize on the momentum of its FIGHT PASS debut, Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat will return to the Hard Rock in Sacramento on May 28 and will be part of a red-hot slate of live combat sports programming FIGHT PASS will stream during Memorial Day weekend.

“I’m excited to be bringing high level MMA back to Northern California,” said Faber.  “These regional shows have had a huge role in so many peoples’ careers. I can’t wait to welcome and give a home to the next generation of MMA stars!”

“Urijah is an MMA legend, and it’s going to be great for our subscribers to have him and A1 Combat on FIGHT PASS,” said Crowley Sullivan, Vice President and General Manager, UFC FIGHT PASS.  “We’re looking forward to Urijah bringing the same charisma, flair, and fight game knowledge to FIGHT PASS that he delivered throughout his 16-year MMA career.”

Faber, who was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2017, compiled a 35-11 record across a 16-year professional MMA career, most notably with WEC and UFC.  Faber made his WEC debut in March 2006 at WEC 19 and became the WEC featherweight champion after defeating Cole Escovedo.  Faber went on to make five successful featherweight title defenses between 2006-08 and headlined WEC’s only Pay-Per-View event.

Following its acquisition and integration into UFC, Faber began a successful run in which he set records for wins in the UFC bantamweight division (10) and finishes in the UFC bantamweight division (6).  He also holds the record for combined finishes as a bantamweight in UFC / WEC (7) and combined submissions as a bantamweight in UFC / WEC (7), among other notable achievements.

One of Faber’s most impressive contributions to the sport of MMA took shape in 2004 when he established the world-renowned “Team Alpha Male” in his adopted hometown of Sacramento, Calif.
