Dillon Danis is in hot water
Bellator fighter Dillon Danis appears to be in trouble with the law. The grappling standout has been taken into custody after a fight broke out outside of a club. A video shows Danis fighting with police and being taken into a police car with handcuffs on. Danis seems to resist the arrest and attempts to trip an officer. The exact location of the fight was not known but Danis is a New York native and many thought it could have happened in New York City.

Later on, a potential mugshot photo of Danis was circulating. The stamp on the photo was that of the Seaside Heights Police Department where the ordeal was said to take place. The photo is unofficial as a statement by police was not made public.

This is not the first time Danis has found himself in this kind of trouble. He was allegedly involved in a fight outside of a nightclub in New York back in 2019. Danis is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist who is 2-0 in MMA. He has competed in Bellator but has not been in the cage since June of 2019. He has been dealing with injuries for the last few years and in the video, he is seen with a knee brace on.
Despite not having fought in Bellator, Danis has been vocal about wanting a fight with Jake Paul. Whan Paul fought ben Askren, Danis was pleading for the next fight. He is not known as a striker, and that seems to be the type of MMA fighter Paul likes to fight.
Danis nor his team have yet to make a statement regarding this incident. Notably, when his friend Conor McGregor was arrested in New York for attacking the UFC bus at UFC 223, it was Danis who paid his bail. Perhaps the favor can be returned.
