William Gomis wins at home vs. Jarmo Errens at UFC Paris, fantastic fight from both fighters. 

UFC heads to Paris, France for the first time in its promotional tenure. It has been two and half years since mixed martial arts was classes as a sport in France.

Tonight’s event, which takes place in the Accor Arena, is headlined by a heavyweight fight between former interim champion Ciryl Gane and top contender Tai Tuivasa. Hometown favourite Gane will look to get back on track to the title with a win over surging Australian Tuivasa.

Also, No1 and No2 contenders Rob Whittaker and Marvin Vettori are set to clash in the co-main event, both fighters have suffered two defeats to current champion Israel Adesanya.

The main card is topped off with two other middleweight bouts between Nassourdine Imavov vs. Joaquin Buckley and Alessio Di Chirico vs. Roman Kopylov. French prospect William Gomis is set to battle Jarno Errens, both making their debut inside UFC. The main card starts off with a certified early fight of the night contender Charles Jourdain vs. Nathaniel Wood.

On the prelims, stacked with two french talent, Benoit Saint-Denis and Fares Ziam and many other fighters.

Gomis (10-2), rides into this bout of the back of 8 straight wins. He last appeared at Ares Fighting Championship 7, where he dispatched Jose Marcos Lima Santiago Jr.

Errens (13-3-1), is riding 5 wins out of his past 7 fights. The Dutch featherweight last stepped into the cage on Aug. 6, when he won a unanimous decision over Alisher Abdulloev at Brave Combat Federation 61.

ROUND 1:

Both fighters open up early with the kicks. Flashy switch kick attempt from Gomis. Very explosive combination from Gomis, they end up in the clinch and Gomis gets the takedown. Gomis trying to make his elbows useful on the ground. Errens explodes up and we end up against the fence in the clinch. Gomis disengages and we end the round.

ROUND 2:

Chants of Gomis ring around the arena as we start the second. Both fighters start off we the kicks once again. Errens lands a big right hand and Gomis was momentarily WOBBLED, Gomis does fantastic to recover really quickly and the French fighter gets the fight to the ground. We are back to the feet, Errens really trying to make his hands impactful in the second round. Another takedown at the end of the round for Gomis.

ROUND 3:

Both fighters embrace and get the crowd roaring. Gomis continuing with his flashy kicks. Gomis gets Errens up against the fence and lands a double leg takedown to get the fight to the mat. After some control time from Gomis, Errens throws up a triangle choke and it looks DEEP! Gomis could be in real trouble here. Gomis uses the sweat to his advantage to slip out and that’s the end of the fight! A very close fight, leaning William Gomis on my scorecard.
