UFC heads to Paris, France for the first time in its promotional tenure. It has been two and half years since mixed martial arts was classed as a sport in France.

Tonight’s event, which takes place in the Accor Arena, is headlined by a heavyweight fight between former interim champion Ciryl Gane and top contender Tai Tuivasa. Hometown favourite Gane will look to get back on track to the title with a win over surging Australian Tuivasa.

Also, No1 and No2 contenders Rob Whittaker and Marvin Vettori are set to clash in the co-main event, both fighters have suffered two defeats to current champion Israel Adesanya.

The main card is topped off with two other middleweight bouts between Nassourdine Imavov vs. Joaquin Buckley and Alessio Di Chirico vs. Roman Kopylov. French prospect William Gomis is set to battle Jarno Errens, both making their debut inside UFC. The main card starts off with a certified early fight of the night contender Charles Jourdain vs. Nathaniel Wood.

In this highlighted play-by-play main card bout between Charles Jourdain and Nathaniel Wood.

Jourdain (13-5-1), is 4-4-1 in the UFC now, with two of them being in 2022. Handing Lando Vanatta a submission loss and last fought against Shane Burgos but fell on the wrong side of a majority decision.

Wood (18-5), heads to Paris to put on another show. He is 5-2 in the UFC now and stays up at featherweight making his debut in spectualar fashion vs. Charles Rosa at UFC London recently. Wood looks to carry the momentum to seek his second victory this year.

Here’s how it played out round by round:

ROUND 1:

The Canadian Jourdain opens up with a stiff left hand. Wood lands an outside trip, the Englishmen is in full guard. Jourdain gives up the back as he tries to get back to his feet. Jourdain escapes and we are back to the center, Jourdain is wasting no time! Landing his hands early. A big right hand over the top makes Jourdain momentarily wobble. Wood settles himself back down and takes his time. Both fighters landing on each other. At the end of the round Wood and Jourdain just trade! Awesome first -round.

ROUND 2:

Wood opening up with his kicks early. A big left hook from Jourdain lands. Slip and rip from the Englishmen. Wood in full flowing state now, getting the fight back to the mat. After some control time, the ref stands the fight back up. Jourdain lands a nice connection, his left hand gets through. Left hook from Wood, both fighters are just firing back! Jourdain lands a trip of his own now. Back to the feet and a few exchanged elbows later and we are at the end of the round. Could go either way.

ROUND 3:

Third round, likely a big round needed Jourdain. A spinning back slow attempt from Jourdain but Wood effortlessly ducks under. Another trip takedown from Wood, he’s looking really good in the third so far. A lot to clinch fighting, Wood getting better of the exchanges. Swinging at the end of the bell, both men throwing with vicious intent! Wood ends up on top after another trip takedown. Looks like the scorecards will side to the Englishman.
