Yan Xiaonan outpoints Claudia Gadelha in Las Vegas
Coming off a two-fight win streak over Angela Hill and Randa Markos, former UFC strawweight title contender Claudia Gadelha meets rising star Yan Xiaonan at 115-pounds. The UFC Vegas 13 fight was broadcast on ESPN+.
Xiaonan, fighting out of China, has not lost a mixed martial arts contest in more than 10 years, September 2010 to be exact.
Here’s how the fight went down.
In the first round, the first minute was contested on the feet until Gadelha rocked Xiaonan with a shot, backed her up, and then used double under hooks to an inside trip to get the fight to the canvas. Gadelha worked from the top, only for the two women to stand back up against the cage and Gadelha going to work from the clinch. They break, and Gadelha gets another takedown in the form of a single here. The round ends with Gadelha throwing down strikes from the top.
