Regiment Training Center product Yorgan De Castro is returning to the CES cage on June 15 to take on David White at CES 50. I talked with the 31 year old light heavyweight who says he can’t wait to get back in the cage.
You’ve had a couple of fights fall through, how frustrating has that been?
Yorgan De Castro: I’m a big believer that everything happens for a reason and I always look to the positive side of the situation. I got more time to fill my holes and get better in different areas of my game.”
How excited are you for this fight?
“I’m very excited man, I’ve been working really hard for this upcoming fight. I can’t wait for the referee to say fight….it will be spectacular.”
How do you think you matchup with your opponent?
“I match up pretty good with my opponent, he’s a striker and a bjj blue belt. I don’t really think that this fight go to the ground, so we are gonna stand and bang and when it comess to standing and banging, I’m a black belt on that department.”
How does this fight end?
“I’m too powerful and to fast, there’s no way that this is getting out of the first round. I’m gonna finish him in the first.”
What does fighting at CES 50 mean to you?
“I mean CES is the best promotion in New England. Fighting for them means that I’m closer to my dream. I’m very thankful for the opportunity they’re giving to me and I’m gonna make most of it.”
