Aaron Jeffery Looking Ahead But Not Past Bellator 298

Aaron Jeffery spoke with MyMMANews before the Bellator x RIZIN 2 event and he knows being ranked at the top of his division could get him involved in events like that. But that’s a conversation for when it happens, right now Jeffery is focused on Dalton Rosta.

Jeffery will be facing Rosta at Bellator 298. He is currently ranked number six on the Bellator MMA middleweight rankings. Rosta is ranked number four and a win could get him back to where he was before his loss to John Salter at Bellator 293. Future and focus is the name of the game for the Canadian middleweight and Jeffery looks more than ready to get back to work in August.

Anyone that has watched Jeffery compete knows that he will address any doubts anyone has of him in his next fight. So when asked how he matches up against the man ranked above him, Jeffery said, “ He’s not like a specialist. He doesn’t do anything extremely well. He’s well-rounded. He strikes a bit, he wrestles a bit. He’s big and strong. I think he thinks he’s going to run through me from the sounds of his interviews. He thinks I’m a shitty fighter so hopefully he’s underestimating me and hopefully he thinks it’s gonna be a walk in the park.”

Jeffery is not someone that engages in trash talk. His attitude has always been to focus on the task at hand. The only thing Jeffery had to add on Rosta was, “ I don’t think he’s fought anyone on my level and I think he’s going to have a rough night out there.”

Bellator 298 takes place August 11 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and airs live on SHOWTIME.
