AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door Sells Out in Minutes

If you weren’t one of the lucky 3,000-ish people in queue on Friday morning you missed out on the opportunity to witness All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) battle in the Windy City on June, 26.

To no one’s surprise, the co-promoted AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door supershow sold out in a matter of minutes.

In fact, the show was almost an instant sell out before tickets even went on sale to the general public. According to event tracker WrestleTix, AEW and NJPW sold approximately 11,200 tickets during the Thursday presale for the event.  This left 3,000 or so for the general public to fight over.

And fight they did.  It was reported on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio more than 20,000 were in queue at on sale time for the remaining 3,000 tickets.

Not bad for a show without any matches announced.

If you’re hellbent on seeing the action live from the United Center, tickets can be had on the secondary market for a reasonable price.

“Get in” tickets on StubHub start at less than $100 for many spots in the upper deck.  Ringside seats are available for as cheap as $207 all the way up to $6,572.  The $6,500 tickets will get you second row on the entrance aisle.

If you’re like me and enjoy the front row seat in front of a monster TV, the show will be available on traditional PPV, New Japan World, and Fite TV.
