American Top Team loses second coach

Recently, former American Top Team coach Din Thomas, announced his departure from American Top Team in March. Now, the second coach at ATT announced his departure via social media. Phil Daru, strength and conditioning, took to social media to inform everyone of his upcoming plans.

“Well it’s been fun #Att but it’s officially time for me to do my own thing,” Daru wrote.

“I’m excited for the new chapter and blessed to be opening up 2 new training facilities in south Florida where we will focus on sports performance and fitness in two separate locations,” he continued.

Daru has worked with several athletes from MMA, as well as other sports including boxing, baseball, etc. Being the second coach to leave the world-renowed gym, it does beg the question whether something is going on. Yet while this announcement may come as a shock, Daru still plans to continue working with his fighters.

“I’ve been apart of American Top Team since I was 19 years old as fighter and coach I truly appreciate and respect the opportunities I’ve been given,” Daru penned.

“I still will be coaching @dustinpoirier @edsonbarbozajr @joannajedrzejczyk @juniorcigano and whoever else wants to continue training at my own facility,” he said.

Daru stated that his two new facilities will focus on general fitness and bootcamp training. His gyms will be in partnership with former Red Sox slugger Mo Vaughn. Daru will also branch out to most sports, in general, including basektball, soccer and track & field.

“I’VE NEVER BEEN ONE TO SETTLE SO LETS KEEP IT MOVING,” Daru finished.
