A pair of former UFC heavyweights will meet in the squared circle as Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva and Gabriel Gonzaga headlined Bare Knuckle FC 8 on October 19.
The announcement which Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship President David Feldman has been teasing, became official today via the promotion’s social media pages.
Both big men are new to both the promotion and the sport of bare knuckle boxing.
Gonzaga, a former UFC heavyweight title challenger, last competed in MMA in 2018, loosing to Aleksander Emelianenko. His career with the UFC dates back to 2005 and spanned up until 2016 when he lost in the first round to the hands of Derrick Lewis.
A professional MMA competitor since 2005, the Brazilian ‘Bigfoot’ has competed for the UFC, Strikeforce, EliteXC, Cage Rage, Fight Nights Global, World Victory Road, K-1 HERO’S, and Cage Warriors. He is the former EliteXC Heavyweight Champion, Cage Rage World Heavyweight Champion, and Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Champion.
BKFC signed Silva earlier this month. “We are happy to announce the signing of ‘Bigfoot’ Silva to our roster,” said BKFC President David Feldman. “He has fought and beat some of the best in the world. We have some intriguing matchups that we are talking about with him now. I really expect great fighters from Antonio.”
BKFC 8 takes place at the Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Florida and can be watched via pay-per-view on FITE.tv.
