Carlos Condit set to return vs. Mickey Gall in December

Carlos Condit is returning to the Octagon in 2019.

Sources have confirmed to MyMMANews.com’s Eric Kowal that Condit will take on Mickey Gall at UFC on ESPN 6. The event will take place Dec. 7 at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. and will be headlined by a heavyweight matchup between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. This will be the first time since October 2015 that the UFC heads to Washington, D.C.

The welterweight bout between Condit and Gall was first reported by Gene Wang of the Washington Post on Twitter.

Condit will look to snap a five-fight losing streak in the Nation’s Capital. Since losing a split decision in a welterweight title fight to Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC 195 in January 2016, “The Natural Born Killer” has suffered submission losses to Demian Maia, Alex Oliveira and Michael Chiesa, along with a unanimous decision defeat to Neil Magny. Condit’s most recent appearance took place at UFC 232 last December, losing to Chiesa via kimura in the second-round. The 35-year-old hopes to capture his first Octagon win since May 2015, a TKO win over Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67.

Gall will look to continue his winning ways, while picking up a win over a longtime, fan-favorite veteran fighter. Most recently, Gall defeated Salim Touahri via unanimous decision at UFC Newark earlier this month. The 27-year-old bounced back from a second-round TKO loss to Diego Sanchez at UFC 235 in March, a fight in which Gall suffered from kidney failure. The Gracie New Jersey trained fighter will look to improve his UFC record to 6-2.

With the addition of the welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Mickey Gall, here is how the UFC’s return to Washington D.C. currently shapes up.

UFC on ESPN 6 fight card:

  • Aspen Ladd vs. Yana Kunitskaya
