Bellator 297 weigh-in results – Nemkov vs. Romero
Tomorrow night’s blockbuster BELLATOR 297, including both headlining title fights, is official following today’s weigh-ins.
All twenty-six of BELLATOR 297’s competitors weighed in successfully ahead of BELLATOR’s return to the Wintrust Arena in Chicago tomorrow, Friday, June 16. BELLATOR 297 will air LIVE on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT/6 p.m. PT, with its preliminary card airing at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT/3 p.m. PT on the BELLATOR MMA YouTube channel, SHOWTIME Sports YouTube channel, and Pluto TV.
In the highly anticipated main event of BELLATOR 297, Light Heavyweight World Champion Vadim Nemkov (16-2, 1 NC) will defend his title against No. 3-ranked Yoel Romero (15-6) in his bid to cement himself as the world’s top fighter at 205-pounds.
The event’s co-headliner will see BELLATOR Featherweight World Champion Patricio Pitbull (35-5) attempt to make history as the first MMA fighter to hold three weight divisional world titles in a major promotion when he drops to 135 pounds to welcome reigning BELLATOR Bantamweight World Champion, Sergio Pettis (22-5), back from an 18-month injury layoff that saw Patchy Mix (18-1) crowned Interim Bantamweight Champion and Grand Prix tournament winner.
Elsewhere on the main card, former world title challenger and No. 1-ranked light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson (16-6, 1 NC) will return to his native Illinois against former divisional titleholder and No. 2-ranked contender Phil Davis (24-6, 1 NC), while Chicago’s own and No. 4-ranked Daniel James (15-6-1) looks to extend his five-fight knockout streak in front of a raucous hometown crowd against Turkey’s No. 10-ranked Gokhan Saricam (8-2).
