Video: BROADENED HORIZIN Episode 11: Rena Kubota, Bobby Ologun, and Momoka Mandokoro

This is BROADENED HORIZIN. The MMA podcast show hosted by Drake Riggs where we chat with your favorite Japanese and RIZIN superstars… in English!

Episode 11 came in for a quick turnaround following the one-year anniversary special. Ahead of the upcoming RIZIN 32 and RIZIN Trigger 1 events, it was only appropriate to speak with some of the featured attractions.

Continuing to make history under the RIZIN banner is the 4-foot-11 kickboxing veteran Momoka Mandokoro who gets set for her second bout in the promotion. Not only will it be Momoka’s second bout, but it’s the second overall women’s kickboxing bout for RIZIN ever. Momoka suffered a loss to Rina Panchan in her last time out but looks to rebound at RIZIN Trigger on Nov. 28 against Miku.

RIZIN 32 on Nov. 20 will see a classic spectacle bout take place as Japanese TV personality Bobby Ologun steps back into a combat sports ring for the first time since 2007. Last competing against Bob Sapp and Hong-man Choi in K-1, Ologun looks to make good on his RIZIN debut as against a more equally-sized opponent in Katsuya Kitamura.

The main event of RIZIN 32 will feature somewhat of a full-circle rematch as atomweight staples meet once again. Rena Kubota takes on Miyuu Yamamoto after winning their first encounter in the 2016 super atomweight world grand prix. Despite seeming hesitant to continue on with her career following her last win opposite Emi Tomimatsu, Rena is now feeling like there could be plenty of gas left in the tank.

All that and more on BROADENED HORIZIN! Watch the full episode in the video above or you can listen on Spotify.
