Cem Kilic, pro boxer, dead at 29

Cem Kilic, a professional boxer known as “Champ” has died at age 29.

Born in Frankfurt, Hessen, Germany, and fighting out of Sherman Oaks, California, Kilic held a record of 17-1 and last competed in August 2022.

Kelic’s passing was announced through the social pages of legendary coach Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing.

“We so very deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Cem Kilic,” the statement reads. “Gone far too soon. Our condolences to the Kilic family and to all those affected by his passing. Rest in peace, Cem. You will be greatly missed @kilicboxing #friend #boxer #fighter #boxing @freddieroach @shaneshapiro @julian_chua @viloriaboxing @brickhouseboxingclub”

Roach himself then reshared the post with his own caption, “There are no words … deepest sympathies to Cem’s family and friends. Rest in peace … #Repost @wildcardboxingclub”

As of press time, no cause of death has been announced.
