CES 61’s Mitch Raposo: I’m better than Matt Almy everywhere

Interview with Mitch Raposo above – Check it out

Mitch Raposo (4-0) discusses his 130-pound catchweight fight against Matt Almy (4-3) at CES 61 on Oct. 14. Mitch also talks about fights falling through this year on the regional scene, training with Calvin Kattar and potentially competing on DWCS after this fight. The 21-year old explained why this fight is happening at 130-pounds instead of at flyweight.

“It was weird. When I got the fight five weeks ago, my coach is like ‘oh are you sure you can make 125-pounds again? Because Almy says he can go higher. He’ll do a catchweight if you want’ I was like ‘dude, I’ve never missed weight in my life, I want to go down to 125-pounds.” So then we did it. Then a week ago my manager Tyson (Chartier) was like ‘hey you cool with 130-pounds?’ I’m kind of bummed because I wanted to make the weight. I want to make it now before I get to the UFC, I want to get better at the cut because I have got bigger. So he said something about he doesn’t have access to a sauna. But it just sounds like another excuse. That’s how I took it.”
