Today, Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET, Eddie Bravo’s Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds will be held at the Majestic Resorts Costa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico. MyMMANews will have all you results.

The event features an 16-man middleweight combat jiu jitsu style tournament. The combat jiu jitsu ruleset allows for open hand palm strikes once the action hits the ground. There is also a “get down” rule if the match does not hit the ground for a full minute, which requires the competitors to get down on the mat and start from there to allow for the palm strikes. You can check out the countdown show to learn more about the competitors below. Laura Kent

Laura Kent is a 10th Planet jiu jitsu brown belt who trains at 10th Planet Bethlehem and 10th Planet Allentown under the Finishers MMA banner. She competes regularly and is an avid follower and fan of the submission only competition scene. Laura tries to make an effort to cover some of the local submission only events that get less coverage from mainstream MMA and jiu jitsu news outlets and will regularly cover the Eddie Bravo Invitational and Combat Jiu Jitsu events. Laura is an MMA fan as well, which is a large part of what led her to start her jiu jitsu training.
