Dana White shares praise for Kevin Croom after short-notice win: ‘So f*****g badass’

Dana White was impressed by Kevin Croom, to say the least.

Croom agreed to make his UFC debut on just two days’ notice against one of the division’s highly-touted prospects in Roosevelt Roberts. Entering the fight, many figured Roberts would earn a stoppage win, yet that is far from what happened. Croom dropped Roberts early and got ahold of a choke and forced the tap in just 31 seconds.

The win was an impressive one for Croom who has been fighting as a professional since 2009. It also got him a $50,000 performance of the night bonus, and shared a very cool story that caught the attention of Dana White.

“On Wednesday I had $64 in my bank account, and was tryung to figure out how to make it $65…. helluva weekend,” Croom wrote.

Dana White then got wind of the tweet and responded praising the UFC newcomer.

“So f*****g badass! Those who take big risks, get BIG REWARDS,” the president wrote.

With momentum on his side, Kevin Croom is looking to build off it and return as soon as possible.

“I live my life for the better story. It couldn’t be a better story than this, so holla at ya boy, Croom said after the fight. “I’m trying to fight next week – let’s go. I can make weight tonight. I make ’45, ’55 – I make ’35 in a few weeks. But yes, I can make weight tonight, so let’s go. Pure excitement, pure entertainment, in or out of the ring. It doesn’t matter. I’m coming. I’m an entertainer and that’s what I do.”

Kevin Croom is now 22-12 as a pro and on a four-fight winning streak which also includes a win over Adil Benjilany at Bellator 239. He also has a notable win over Darrick Minner on the regional scenes and even fought Justin Gaethje on the regional scenes.
