Fabian Edwards vs. Costello van Steenis added to Sept. 26 Bellator event in Milan

A middleweight matchup between Fabian Edwards and Costello Van Steenis is on tap for Bellator’s Sept. 26 event in Milan Italy.

Bellator confirmed the bouts to MMA Junkie on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The event will take place at the Allianz Cloud. The two were originally slated to fight on Bellator’s London, England card in May, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

England’s own Edwards puts his unbeaten record on the line with nine wins. He most recently pickled up a split decision against Mike Shipman at Bellator Europe 6 this past November.

Edwards is currently 5-0 under the Bellator banner. He had a busy 2019 with four victories in his second stint with the promotion.

Van Steenis is coming off a unanimous-decision loss to John Salter at Bellator 233 in November 2019. The defeat snapped a six-fight win streak for “The Spaniard,” including four victories inside the Bellator cage.

The promotion also confirmed two additional bouts at 185 pounds. Will Fleury will take on Ken Kauppinen and Pietro Penini meets Shipman.

Bellator Milan fight card thus far:

Fabian Edwards vs. Costello van Steenis – 185 lbs
Mukhamed Berkhamov vs. John Palaiologos – 170 lbs
Aleksandra Toncheva vs. Chiara Penco – 115 lbs
Will Fleury vs. Kent Kauppinen – 185 lbs
Mike Shipman vs. Pietro Penini – 185 lbs
