Dusko Todorovic brutalizes Jordan Wright: UFC Vegas 62

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, October 15, 2022, just one week out from UFC 280, for UFC Vegas 62, going down live from the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada.

Headlining the event is a women’s flyweight contest between no. 5 ranked Alexa Grasso (14-3) and no. 6 ranked Viviane Araujo (11-3).

Our co-main of the evening came in the bantamweight division, as longtime featherweight staple Cub Swanson (28-12) made the move down to 135 lbs for the first time to take on surging prospect Jonathan Martinez (16-4).

The second bout on the main card tonight came in the middleweight prospects Dusko Todorovic (11-3) and Jordan Wright (12-3). Both men have a ton of potential, but both came in having gone 1-3 in their last four, and both were stopped with strikes in two of those defeats.

Official Result: Dusko Todorovic def. Jordan Wright via TKO (punches) at 3:12 of round two

Todorovic aims for an early takedown as he presses Wright into the fence, but it’s Wright that ends up taking Todorovic down about two minutes in.

Todorovic rolls for a leg lock and gets Wright’s leg deep between his. The two scramble for a time, until Wright begins to reign down some serious punches from top position.

This badly hurts Todorovic, who eventually works his way up. But, he isn’t up for long, as Wright single legs him back down to the mat.

Wright looks like he’s tightened up all the gaps in his game; he was just submitted in his last fight by someone that’d never submitted anyone in MMA before, and now he looks great on the ground against a BJJ black belt.

Todorovic comes out and gets right in Wright’s grill to start the second, and he doesn’t let up.

Todorovic got up off that stool and chose violence, my god what a second round by these two. Wright throws back and lands some shots of his own, but he’s quickly becoming overwhelmed, and he ends up getting taken down and mounted, where he’s ultimately stopped.

This was the longest fight of Jordan Wright’s career, and though he’s now lost three-straight, he looked incredible early on in all three of them. Dusko Todorovic improved his record to 12-3 with this win tonight, this being his 11th finish.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
