FEN 33: LOTOS Fight Night 5 Main Event Preview

Fight Exclusive Night is set for another great show with FEN 33: LOTOS Fight Night 5 set for Saturday, March 27, 2021. Currently, the fight card is stacked with nine bouts including several of FEN’s top-ranked competitors. Among those bouts is a big light-heavyweight battle between #4-ranked Rafal Kijanczuk and #5-ranked Marcin Filipczak. Featherweights Damian Frankiewicz and #1-ranked contender Kacper Formela will also clash. A featherweight title shot more than likely on the line.

Main Card Showdowns

Rafal Kijanczuk vs Marcin Filipczak

With all eight of his professional wins coming by knockout, Rafal Kijanczuk (8-3) is always a strike away from ending his opponent’s night. Most recently, Kijanczuk participated on the first Genesis bare-knuckle boxing card, earning a split-decision victory in October 2020. Genisis is a sub-organization of Poland’s mega-organization, KSW. Across the cage from Kijanczuk stands a young fighter ready to make his ascension to the top, Marcin Filipczak (4-1). After dropping his professional debut, Filipczak has won his last four in a row, all by the finish. Filipczak previously told MyMMANews, “Since my professional debut, I have three KO’s in the first round and one submission in the first round. When I go into each fight, I go out to win, to dominate, and to show my superiority over the opponent. That comes out of my determination to win quickly,” stated Filipczak.

Kacper Formela vs Damian Frankiewicz

Winner of his last two bouts inside FEN, Kacper Formela (11-4) currently sits as the featherweight division’s #1-contender for Daniel Rutkowski’s title. Seven of his career 11 wins have come by the finish. A handful of those coming in the first round. Formela trains at the Mighty Bulls gym in Gdynia, Poland. He gets great work with KSW’s new bantamweight champion in Sebastian Przybysz. With a win Saturday, Formela could earn a shot against one of Poland’s top fighters in Rutkowski. This could catapult Formela to the top of Poland’s list of superstars.

Coming off of a tough loss, Damian Frankiewicz (9-3) will look to make a statement in his FEN debut. Frankiewicz most recently competed under the Bellator MMA banner. Dangerous on the ground, six of his career nine victories have come by submission. With both of these fighters sporting high finishing rates, the winner can put themselves in prime position for a future title shot. Prior to his Bellator loss, Frankiewicz won five in a row with three of those being by a finish.
