Gina Carano shows support to Cyborg and Holly Holm after epic UFC 219 fight

Gina Carano will star and produce an upcoming film for The Daily Wire

Gina Carano is back in business.

Shortly after being fired by Lucasfilm for a social media post, conservative talk show host Ben Shapiro came to the aid of the now former star of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Shapiro, who is one of the founders of The Daily Wire where he is the host of his talk show The Ben Shapiro Show, announced that The Daily Wire will team up with Carano, who will produce and star in an upcoming film exclusively for Daily Wire members. The new project will be produced as part of Daily Wire’s existing deal with Dallas Sonnier and his production company, Bonfire Legend.

“We here at The Daily Wire do not stand for this kind of bullshit,” Shapiro said on his program. “We do not stand for this and so yesterday in the immediate aftermath of the decision by Disney and Lucasfilm to dump Gina, I called Gina and we talked. We decided that Daily Wire’s next film will be staring and produced by Gina Carano.”

Shapiro is also thrilled to have Carano onboard as he believes Carano is being targeted by today’s cancel culture.

As for Carano, she cannot wait to work with The Daily Wire as she released a statement on her new hiring which Shapiro read on his show.

“The Daily Wire is helping to make one of my dreams to develop and produce one of my own films come true,” Carano said in her statement. “I cried out and my prayer was answered. I’m sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I’ve only just begun using my voice, which is now more free than ever before. I hope it inspires for others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

Prior to acting, Carano made headlines in the MMA world. 14 years ago she competed in the first women’s MMA fight in history to air on live television. She last appeared in 2009 when she lost to Cris Cyborg for the inaugural Strikeforce featherweight championship.
