Gisele Bündchen, Tom Brady’s ex-wife, earns BJJ purple belt in less than two years
Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, ex-wife of former NFL star Tom Brady, has earned her purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu according to a post on her Instagram stories.
“I am now a purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu,” she wrote. “Thank you, Valente Brothers. Congratulations, Valente Brothers, on your 30th birthday. Your discipline and values are inspired.”
Since 2001, she has been one of the highest-paid models in the world. In 2007, Bündchen was the 16th-richest woman in the entertainment industry and earned the top spot on Forbes top-earning models list in 2012.In 2014, she was listed as the 89th-most-powerful woman in the World by Forbes.
The supermodel and her children — son Benjamin and daughter Vivian — have been working on their jiu-jitsu practice with the Valente Brothers in Maimi, Florida.
The now 43-year-old model began training in February 2022, less than two years ago. Traditionally it takes BJJ practitioners three to six years to earn their purple belt, or about ~1,200 mat hours.
