Jailton Almeida moves to Heavyweight: will face Parker Porter in May

Due to an injury, Maxim Grishin, who was originally slated to face Jailton Almeida, has had to pull from the fight.

The light heavyweight prospect, Almeida, will now face Parker Porter in a three-round heavyweight bout.

Almeida (15-2-0), made his first walk to the UFC octagon in February of this year. His promotional debut ended with a technical knockout over Danilo Marques in which stamped Almeida’s name as a real light heavyweight contender.

As a professional, Almeida has finished all 15 of his victories before the final bell. The Brazilian finisher will be making the move up to heavyweight come May 21st, as he takes on Parker Porter at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Vieira

Porter (13-6-0) has gone 3-1 since making his UFC debut. In his last three bouts, Porter has defeated Josh Parisian, Chase Sherman, and Alan Baudot. Come May, Porter will be looking for his fourth consecutive victory.

The night of fights is to take place on May 21st at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
