The Greater Boys and Girls Club of Bear, Delaware is set to host one of the most exciting and highly anticipated kickboxing events in Delaware this year. Gut Check Championship Series is scheduled to take place on May 20, 2023, and promises to be a spectacular display of Glory rules kickboxing and Muay Thai with an absolutely stacked card.
Some of the most notable names in kickboxing around the surrounding area will take the stage and put it all on the line. With titles on the line, mixed with a few grudge matches, Gut Check Championship Series is set for an intense, action-packed night of fights that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Fresh off of a unanimous decision victory just two months ago, Jake Kelly returns to the ring to continue his journey to the top. Kelly found success early in his kickboxing career, garnering an undefeated record of 3-0. After venturing out to California where he would attend school, learning the ropes of crafting and creating custom clothing, Kelly returned to his native, Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he resumed training alongside his brother, professional kickboxer/MMA fighter, Zak Kelly.
Back in his groove and rediscovering the urge to compete, Kelly looks to continue his unbeaten streak to 5-0 on May 20 as he takes on Justin Granger.
“On 5/20, I’m going to be 5-0. That’s the task at hand and we’re going to accomplish it,” Kelly confidently expresses. “I’m looking for a finish. It’s going to be my 5th fight. I’ve never lost a round in any of my fights. I’ve always won 30-27 unanimous decisions,” he factually states.
Feeling better than ever ahead of fight night, Kelly contends, “my confidence is at an all-time high, my skills feel like they’re at an all-time high. I just want to go in there and put on a performance for everybody!”
