The Canadian mixed martial arts scene has a number of up and coming prospects. Arguably, at the top of that list of fighters to watch from the Great White North is the unbeaten Jasmine Jasudavicius, who returns to action this Saturday against Gabriella Guflin at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 81.
CFFC 81 takes place at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Penn. and will feature three championship fights. The event will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.
Jasudavicius joined MyMMANews.com to discuss her return to action on Saturday night, training at Syndicate MMA for a part of this fight camp, Roxanne Modafferi’s UFC 246 win over Maycee Barber, her most recent 52 second finish of Christina Adcock at BTC 8 in her first home country fight, being offered a fight for CFFC before and why it didn’t come together, being nominated for the Cage Titans pro fight of the year with her victory over Kylie O’Hearn, getting more attention as a fighter, thoughts on Gabriella as an opponent, how she sees the fight playing out and much more.
In addition, Jasudavicius believes that this fight feels like it could be a tryout of sorts for this summer’s return of Dana White’s Contender Series.
“That’s exactly it,” Jasudavicius told MyMMANews.com about a win potentially earning her a Contender Series opportunity. “I’ve put in such a hard camp for this one and have just been making sure that I’m ready for a really hard fight, and that Im ready for everything she has to offer. I want to make a statement, I want to prove that I’m ready to make the next step and be there.
“I feel like the time is now and I want to take this fight, make a statement and move on to bigger things. I feel like I’m ready and I’m feeling very confident. My training at Syndicate provided me with the confidence to know that I’m able to make that step, make that jump up there.”
