Unbeaten prospect Jesse James Kosakowski discusses his upcoming fight with 27-fight veteran Reggie Mayweather at CES 58. The event takes place Sept. 7 at the Hartford Convention Center in Hartford, Conn. and will air exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
Headlining CES 58 will be a welterweight title fight between Vinicius de Jesus defending against Chris Lozano.
The 23-year-old Kosakowski discusses making his commentary debut last month a AMMO Fight League: Night of Champions alongside Bellator’s Mike Kimbel, his fast rise in the sport, turning down a contract from Bellator following his organizational debut submission win over Rodolfo Rocha at Bellator 216, the fight with Merriweather — the most experienced opponent he has faced in his career — what he has learned about his upcoming opponent through his training camp, being coached by his father, a potential move down to 155-pounds, whether he believes a call to compete on the Contender Series is heading his way, a friendly message to his opponent, and much more.
In addition, Kosakowski gives his prediction of how he sees his fight with Merriweather going in front of his hometown crowd at CES 58.
“You’re gonna see a finish,” Kosakowski told MyMMANews.com. “You’re gonna see a finish. I have been telling people first round, if it goes into the later rounds, I’m ready for that. First round, second round, it doesn’t matter. But, hey, I’m going in there and getting the job done as quickly as possible. That’s it!”
