Max Kellerman, UFC 241: Stipe Miocic KOs Daniel Cormier in the fourth round to regain title

Former champ Daniel Cormier issues statement on UFC 241 loss

Daniel Cormier lost the heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 241. There, he was rematching Stipe Miocic where for three rounds he was dominating the fight. But, in the fourth round, Miocic switched his game plan and started to attack the body. From there it went downhill for ‘DC’ who ended up losing by TKO in the fourth round.

Now, two days later, Cormier took to Instagram to release a statement on the loss, where he apologized to everyone for his performance.

My coaches I am sorry, i appreciate the work and time you’ve spent with me. My fans, thank you guys for all the love and support you have guided me to all these amazing accomplishments. Stipe Miocic and his team, congratulations on a tremendous victory, you showed so much heart and grit, you are the definition of Cleveland tough. @danawhite And all at the @ufc thank you all for everything you have done for me and my family. This has been the most amazing journey, I will decide what I am gonna do now, and as soon as I decide you will all know right away. I love you all. DC.” – Daniel Cormier on Instagram.

What Daniel Cormier will do next is up in the air. He is uncertain on his fighting future and has said he will take the next little while pondering what is next. If that was it for Cormier, he goes down as one of the best fighters ever.
