Jessica Andrade: Time To Rebound

Jessica Andrade hasn’t had the easiest time fighting as of late. After winning the title in 2019 off of her viral slam, Andrade lost two straight to Weili Zhang and Rose Namajunas. She rebounded with another beautiful finish against Katlyn Chookagian and earned a flyweight title shot.

Andrade wasn’t fortunate that night and was outclassed by Valentina Shevchenko who finished her in the second round from a crucifix. But Andrade would roar back with three straight wins over Cynthia Calvillo, Amanda Lemos, and Lauren Murphy.

But Andrade’s luck wore off as she ran into Erin Blanchfield and Xiaonan Yan. Those two saw Andrade finished and this fight has her needing a win badly. One of the most exciting women’s fighter, Andrade has a tough task against her against Tatiana Suarez.

A Shot at the Top For Tatiana Suarez

Long heralded as the top prospect at women’s 115, Tatiana Suarez is looking to notch a huge win over a former champion at UFC Nashville. Then Suarez was sidelined for four years due to a multitude of injuries.

After appearing on The Ultimate Fighter, Suarez went on a tear and looked to soon have a title shot inbound. Her wins aged incredibly well. Her UFC debut saw her beat Viviane Pereira. Then she went in to beat two future champions in Alexa Grasso and Carla Esparza. One more win was bequeathed to her when she beat Nina Nunes in 2019. Then Suarez had the time off.

Upon her return, Tatiana Suarez beat Montana De La Rosa via guillotine. She was originally supposed to fight Virna Jandiroba at UFC Nashville until Jandiroba suffered a knee injury. Now she gets a shot at a former champion and a case for a shot at Weili Zhang, the current strawweight queen.
