Matt Hammerstone looks to turn professional with a win at Maverick MMA 24 this Saturday

Interview with Matt Hammerstone below

Matt Hammerstone (5-0 AM) discusses his vacant bantamweight title fight against Tayvonne Thomas (5-0) at Maverick MMA 24 this Saturday. Matt also spoke about how he got into MMA, training at Kill Cliff FC and how he looks to leave the amateur ranks after this fight.

“If all goes well Saturday, the plan is to hopefully make my professional debut by the end of the year. I might even go pro in September here. I just want to stay active. Before I moved to South Florida, I had a shoulder injury that plagued me for six to eight months. Then I actually had a grade 2 MCL sprain right in the beginning of January, training. So, I rehabbed that back, I’m stronger and my cardio is on point. I just want to stay active and keeping it going.”

The event takes place August 5 at the Wind Creek Hotel and Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and will be broadcast live on Spectation Sports.
