Jorge Masvidal says it’s been too hard getting a deal done to fight Kamaru Usman

Jorge Masvidal isn’t happy with how negotiations are going for his presumed fight against Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title.

Ever since Masvidal claimed the BMF title with a TKO win over Nate Diaz at UFC 244, it seemed likely he would get the next title shot. Dana White even announced the two would fight at International Fight Week during Super Bowl week.

Now, however, with July just a month to go the fight is not done and according to “Gamebred”, the negotiations have been difficult.

“Shouldn’t be this hard to get a deal done #fuckery,” Masvidal tweeted.

Masvidal’s manager in Ibrahim Kawa quickly responded to a fan’s tweet about Masvidal needing to use Ali Abdelaziz’s tricks for the negotiations.

“I keep trying to get him to go to him. He just can’t see himself as a true #american being in business with that type of guy. Stay on him!!,” Kawa responded.

Jorge Masvidal last fought back at UFC 244 where he beat Nate Diaz by TKO to claim the BMF title. Before that, he had the flying knee knockout of Ben Askren in five-seconds, and to start the year earned a KO win over Darren Till.

Gamebred is currently ranked as the third welterweight contender and is 35-13 as a pro. He also has notable wins over Donald Cerrone, James Krause, and Michael Chiesa among others.

With Masvidal vs. Usman negotiations being tough, what the UFC will do is to be seen. They could very well turn to Gilbert Burns who called for his shot after his win over Tyron Woodley. Or, perhaps they have the Colby Covington rematch if a deal can not get done with Masvidal and Usman.

Regardless, Masvidal appears fed up with the negotiations and just wants a deal done. The hope for many fans is a deal gets done for the two to headline UFC 251 in July.
