Josh Emmett powers his way through to decision win over Shane Burgos

The world’s largest MMA promotion is back in Las Vegas, Nevada for the fourth-consecutive week tonight, Saturday, June 20.

UFC on ESPN 11 takes place inside the UFC Apex and is headlined by heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov. Featherweights Shane Burgos and Josh Emmett put their win streaks on the line in the co-main event.

Burgos is coming off three-consecutive victory, most recently beating Makwan Amirkhani by third-round TKO at UFC 244 in November 2019. The 29-year-old also defeated Cub Swanson and Kurt Holobaugh during the win streak.

Emmett is riding a two-fight unbeaten streak with wins over Mirsad Bektic and Michael Johnson.The 35-year-old is 4-1 in his last five octagon appearances.

ROUND 1

They tap gloves and Burgos presses forward. Emmett is on the outside. Emmett swings early. Burgos lands a right hand and Emmett returns a big punch as well. Burgos chops the lead leg kick. Burgos lands a jab and comes back with a knee. Emmett just misses with another looping right. Emmett finds another right, Burgos smiles. Burgos lands another leg kick and another. Burgos chopping at the leg. Burgos targeting the lead leg of Emmett. Burgos goes to the body. Emmett sticking with his right hand, lands. Burgos lands another leg kick. Burgos lands a left hook as Emmett comes in. Burgos lands another stiff jab. Emmett shots for a takedown, Burgos able to get up and they trade.

Both guys go right back where they left off. Burgos targets the leg again. burgos lands a jab and opens up Emmett again. Emmett lands some leather, backs up Burgos. Burgos comes forward. Emmett is bleeding. Burgos snaps out another jab. Burgos is finding a home with a jab. Burgos lands another lead leg kick. Emmett eats another jab. Burgos takes another right hand from Emmett. Emmett lands a jab of his own. Both men miss on a short exchange. Emmett throws jab, Burgos slips and goes to the body. Burgos lands a right cross, comes back with a left jab. Emmett lands a right hand, Burgos counters with his hands, followed by inside leg kick, Burgos remains center. Burgos hits another jab. Burgos with another jab, follows with right cross. Burgos lands a back elbow. They finish the round trading.

ROUND 3

They tap gloves. Emmett comes out aggressive. Both guys are trading early. Emmett comes forward, backs up Burgos. Emmett lands and puts Burgos down. Burgos smiles and is on his back. Burgos goes for an arm-bar, but gives it up. Emmett is on top, but Burgos escapes shortly after. The two trade. Burgos hits the groin of Emmett with a leg kick. Referee Jason Herzog breaks the fight. Emmett waiting it out, taking his time before returning to action. The two tap glove and are back inaction. Emmett looking for another right. Burgos counters and lands a right. Burgos gets rocked again and goes down with a right hand from Emmett. Burgos is able to survive, eventually kicks out and gets to his feet. Burgos keeps coming forward, Emmett finding the right again. Burgos works the jab, takes a jab. Burgos lands an upper cut. Emmett continues to rock Burgos. Burgos stays with his jab. Both men swinging to end the round. Burgos face shows the punishment. What a fight.
