Justin Tafa out, Andrei Arlovski to face Jake Collier on April 30th

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will step in on short notice to face Jake Collier at UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Vera.

Originally slated to fight Jake Collier at the event was UFC heavyweight contender Justin Tafa. Unfortunately, Tafa had to pull from the bout for an undisclosed reason.

Taking his spot will be former UFC heavyweight champion and mixed-martial-arts veteran Arlovski.

Now set to make his 37th walk to the octagon, Arlovski (33-20-0, 2 NC) is riding a three-fight win streak. In his last six bouts, the 43-year-old has defeated the likes of Philipe Lins, Tanner Boser, Chase Sherman, Carlos Felipe, and most recently Jared Vanderaa.

With just a few weeks’ notice, Arlovski will take on 33-year-old heavyweight finisher Jake Collier.

Collier (13-6-0) is coming off of a first-round submission win over Chase Sherman at UFC Fight Night: Katter vs. Chikadze. Collier has yet to be able to string together consecutive wins under the UFC banner, so come April 30th he will be looking to get his first back-to-back victories with the promotion.

UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Vera is set to take place on April 30th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
