Karate Combat Goes to Hollywood With Guest Ring Announcer Danny Trejo

Karate Combat: Hollywood will stream live on January 24 from the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. The full contact karate competition will take place in front of a live VIP audience with ring announcing by action film superstar Danny Trejo. Commentary will be provided by combat sports hall of famer Bas Rutten and fight expert Sean Wheelock, YouTube star Faze Sensei will provide vlogs and behind the scenes content, and Rosci Diaz (106th + Park, Entertainment Tonight) will host the red carpet.

Karate Combat: Hollywood is the startup martial arts league’s first event of the year as it expands to ten events worldwide for 2019, and adds the pursuit of The Golden Belt to the season. All Karate Combat events are available on the league’s site karate.com.

The fight card for Karate Combat: Hollywood features Brazil’s Luiz Rocha vs. Russia’s Myrza Tebuev in a Challenger Match, the winner of which will go on to fight at a future events for the lightweight division’s Golden Belt. The co-main event is the UK’s Jerome Brown vs. New York City’s Abdalla Ibrahim. The event also features Elhadji “Black Magic” N’dour of the U.S., who has won at Karate Combat events in New York and Miami, vs. the debut of Scotland’s Calum Robb and France’s Nadege Ait-Ibrahim facing Brazil’s Ana Luiza Ferreira de Silva. The complete card is below with fighters also representing France, Spain, Ecuador, Serbia, Portugal, and Kyrgyzstan.

The stream will be available free at karate.com, on its Android and iOS apps and Roku channel, along with partners including Twitch, YouTube, DailyMotion, FITE, Pluto TV, Eleven Sports, The Fight Network, Facebook Live, UFC Fight Pass and more.

The weigh in and press conference hosted by Rutten, Wheelock and Faze Sensei, will take place on the afternoon of January 23rd at a location to be announced.

Clearweather Brand has signed as a sponsor of Karate Combat: Hollywood. The independent footwear company will also make custom shoes for the event’s participants.

Karate Combat is the first mainstream full contact karate league, holding events all over the world with top fighters. Innovative Heads Up Display features at karate.com and iOS and Android apps provide live stats including heart rate and other biodata features. Future events in 2019 will take place in Kyoto, Shanghai, Rio, Paris, Madrid, Miami, New York City, and in locations in Italy and Latvia.
