UFC Fight Night 116 weigh-in results from Pittsburgh - Luke Rockhold vs. David Branch

Luke Rockhold claims multiple top-10 opponents turned him down: ‘Who the f***k are you to turn down a fight?’

Luke Rockhold has blasted the top of the middleweight division for turning him down for his return fight.

After Rockhold moved up to light heavyweight and suffered a KO loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239, it was uncertain what his fighting future would be. However, he has hinted at a potential return and now says he is focused on making it back to the Octagon. Yet, he is having a tough time getting an opponent as he says multiple top-10 opponents have turned him down.

“It’s really about fighting someone’s who’s going to fight,” Rockhold told Mike Swick on the “Real Quick with Mike Swick” podcast. (h/t MMAJunkie). “I need to fight a top-10 guy who’s ready to sack up and ready to fight. There’s already multiple people in the top-10 making excuses why they don’t want to fight me. Who the f***k are you to turn down a fight? Where’s your entitlement and what you think you have?

“My last fight, it’s against Yoel Romero missing weight for a world title in Perth two and a half years ago. I’ve left the rankings, but I haven’t really left the rankings,” Rockhold continued. “I’m still there just as much as I want to be and everyone knows who I am and what I can do, and I think everyone’s just making excuses to why they don’t want to fight me right now. We’ve been hunting down the list and trying to find something credible, something fun, something exciting.”

Luke Rockhold says he can’t just fight anyone as he wants to fight someone who gets him excited and gets the fans excited for the scrap. Rockhold also believes he is in a much better place and is confident he can go out and beat anyone in his path en route to reclaiming his belt.
