Round 3

Dvalishvili is clearly comfortable here and working on his striking, throwing in some kicks and then a big overhand right into another takedown. He’s had nine of them through the first two rounds. This is just another repeat performance from his last several fights as he continues to dominate and punish his opponent. He has control the position of this fight almost the entire time and now has the back and is looking for a choke with one minute left in the final round. Lopez those work his way out and we are back to the feet with 30 seconds left and another takedown from “The Machine.” Not much question who won this fight as Dvalishvili adds to his already impressive lead in takedowns with at least a dozen or more.

MyMMANews.com scores the round 10-8, 30-25 for Dvalishvili

Official result: Merab Dvalishvili def. Gustavo Lopez via unanimous decision [30-36, 30-26, 30-25]
