Michelle Waterson out of her UFC 257 fight against Amanda Ribas

Michelle Waterson will no longer be apart of UFC 257 after pulling out of her matchup with Amanda Ribas.

MMA Fighting was first to report the news of Waterson being forced out of the fight. Details surround why she withdrew from the fight are not public at this time according to their article.

Waterson (18-8) last fought in September at UFC Vegas 10 where she picked up a split decision win over Angela Hill. That fight snapped a two-fight losing streak for “The Karate Hottie,” who lost former champions Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza in that stretch.

Ribas (10-1) was originally scheduled to face Esparza at UFC 256, but Esparza pulled out of the fight. Once Esparza dropped out, Ribas told MyMMANews that she was hoping to book a fight with Waterson. She eventually got her wish, but now she’s once again without an opponent.

Ribas is has a lot of momentum in the strawweight division has she’s unbeaten in the UFC. She is coming off a first-round submission victory over Paige VanZant at UFC 251 in July. She also has a notable win over Mackenzie Dern as well.
