EXCLUSIVE: Mickey Gall’s prediction? ‘Render Diego Sanchez unconscious’ at UFC 235

Mickey Gall discusses his upcoming fight with Diego Sanchez this Saturday night at UFC 235. The welterweight bout will take place on the ESPN preliminary card as the UFC returns to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the first time in 2019.

Gall talks about arriving in Las Vegas, how he called his shot once again in getting this fight with Sanchez, what he’s been up to since his most recent submission victory over George Sullivan at UFC Lincoln, whether a fight with Mike Perry was discussed prior to this Saturday’s fight being booked, showcasing skills UFC fans haven’t seen from him yet, what he was doing in Boston with Donald Cerrone and Joe Schilling a few months back and much more.

The 27-year-old Gall also talks about his current mindset and gives his prediction for the fight.

“I’m getting more and more excited,” Gall told MyMMANews.com. “I’m hyper focused. The fight’s not right now so I’m staying present. I’m chilling. I’m enjoying this. I’m hanging out, seeing everybody, talking with everybody. It’s just good, man. Look, I know I’m gonna win the fight on Saturday. I just got to show up.

“I’m pumped (for the matchup). I’m really happy. When the UFC floated the idea by me about fighting Diego Sanchez last year, and I got that in my head, I was like, ‘F**k yeah! It’s gotta happen!’ I never in my life imagined to fight him. The dude’s a legend. He was the first Ultimate Fighter winner. He’s a warrior. He goes to war and I’m excited to go to war with him. I’m very, very confident. I know, for a fact, that I will render him unconscious in the first round. Either it’s going to be my first UFC knockout, or  the first time he’s ever been submitted. But regardless, he’s going to be rendered unconscious in the first round. I’m gonna get my hand raised, and then we go party.”

UFC 235 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight as Jon Jones defends against Anthony Smith. The UFC welterweight title will also be on the line as Tyron Woodley defends against Kamaru Usman.
