Mike Kyle vs. Daniel Gallemore added to PFL Charity Event Fight Card
The Professional Fighters League announced the finalized four-fight card for their historic November 2 event. For the first time ever mixed martial arts will take center stage at the iconic Fight Night charity event. Blagoy Ivanov and Lance Palmer will headline the slate that will benefit Washington D.C.-based Fight For Children.
Ivanov, a native of Bulgaria, will square off with heavy-hitting Brazilian Caio Alencar (11-1) in the main event. The last man to hold the WSOF heavyweight title, Ivanov (15-1) has rattled off four consecutive victories including three by stoppage. In his last outing he needed less than two minutes to dispatch Shawn Jordan by TKO. Ivanov will be looking to solidify his top-seed status heading into the PFL’s inaugural season in 2018.
Alencar is on a four-fight win streak of his own and is hoping to knock off the promotion’s top heavyweight. He is returning from an upset knockout win over former NCAA Division I wrestling standout Jared Rosholt last New Year’s Eve at Madison Square Garden. Alencar needed just 77 seconds to dispatch the former All-American and cement his place in the PFL. Look for fireworks when these two take to the Decagon, the heavyweight sluggers have only seen the final bell four times in a combined 28 professional bouts.
Palmer (11-3) will return to the cage for the first time since injuring his hand in March during a featherweight title fight with undefeated Andre Harrison. He’ll face Steven Siler (28-15) in the co-main event. The Team Alpha-Male product is a four-time Division I wrestling All-American out of Ohio State University and he is a two-time WSOF featherweight champion. Palmer is viewed by many as the top threat to Harrison once the 2018 PFL season gets underway.
Siler is also coming off a loss to Harrison and will be looking to make his return a fruitful one. After a successful run following his stint on The Ultimate Fighter, Siler dropped four straight bouts before righting his career with a four-fight winning streak before running into Harrison in March of 2016. He will have a chance to establish himself as a contender in the 2018 featherweight season with a win over Palmer.
Mike Kyle (22-15-1, 2NC) has been fighting professionally since 2001 and is a true pioneer of the sport. Over his 40-fight career Kyle has fought some of the best MMA has to offer during stints in UFC, Strikeforce, WEC, Pancrase and WSOF. He dropped a close decision to Josh Copeland at PFL: Everett in July and is looking to rebound against the big slugger Daniel Gallemore and hopefully claim a slot on the 2018 PFL roster.
Gallemore (7-3) comes to the PFL riding a three-fight win streak with all three wins by first round finish. The massive 6’5” heavyweight has only been to the judges once in his 10-fight career. He’ll be making his PFL debut and hoping to secure a place on the PFL 2018 season roster.
Timur Valiev (11-2) will return to the Decagon after a nearly 13-month hiatus when he matches up with Josenaldo Silva in the opening bout of the PFL’s Fight For Children event. The 27-year-old Dagestani avenged his only WSOF loss against Chris Gutierrez last October to run his record to 5-1 since signing with the promotion.
Silva (25-5) is the former Jungle Fight bantamweight champion and last fought at WSOF’s blockbuster New Year’s Eve event last December where he suffered a fight-ending knee injury against long-time promotional champion Marlon Moraes. He has fully recovered from that devastating setback and has his sights set on fellow top prospect Valiev.
The Nov. 2 event will hail from the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. and will round out the PFL’s 2017 schedule. The show will be streamed live at www.ProfessionalFightersLeague.com.
