Miranda Maverick out of Saturday’s fight against Mara Romero Borella
Miranda Maverick will have to wait to make her highly anticipated UFC debut.
The Invicta FC standout was scheduled to make her first UFC appear on Saturday at against Mara Romero Borella at UFC on ESPN 12. That fight will now not happen as Maverick has been forced out of the fight.
Combate was first to report the news of the bout cancellation and UFC officials also confirmed the news to MMA Fighting.
There is no word at this time as to why Miranda Maverick was pulled from the fight at the last minute.
Right now the UFC is hoping to keep Borella on the card and currently the promotion is searching for a short notice opponent.
UFC on ESPN 12 will be headlined by a lightweight bout between former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker. The co-main event will feature fan favorite Mike Perry against Mickey Gall. The main card will begin at 8 p.m. EST with the prelims starting 5 p.m. ESPN will air the fights live and the fights can also be streamed on ESPN+.
