Nurzhan Akishev Seeks To Carry Over Local Success To BRAVE CF

After a remarkable run at the regional level, Kazakh phenom Nurzhan Akishev tries to carry over his success to the global stage as he looks to secure an impressive victory in his sophomore BRAVE Combat Federation appearance.

The 28-year-old standout is scheduled to go head-to-head against unbeaten South Korean featherweight Tae Kyun “Ares” Kim in the main event of BRAVE CF 53, which takes place in Almaty, Kazakhstan on August 21st.

Ranked No. 5 among active featherweights in Central Asia, “Bizon” Akishev holds a stellar professional record of 11-3 with eight wins by way of submission and two via knockout. Prior to his promotional debut this past January, he was riding high on a four-fight winning streak.

“Bizon” aims for redemption in his cage return after bowing to Russia’s Roman Bogatov via unanimous decision at BRAVE CF 46. However, the man standing in his re-entry to the winner’s circle is Kim, who has been on a roll with three consecutive victories in the Bahrain-based promotion.

A potential crack at the vacant BRAVE CF Featherweight World Championship could be on the horizon if either one of them will be able to secure the decisive win in the card’s headliner.

Akishev, who once held the Octagon featherweight belt and won the one-night 145-pound tourney under the Bushido FC banner in 2019, is determined to move an inch closer to his dream world title shot.

“A lot of people call me the ‘Belt Hunter.’ Therefore, I will try to add a BRAVE CF belt to my collection,” he declared.
