ONE Championship’s Jarred Brooks “Joshua Pacio would be a great fight for me”

Following a successful promotional debut, Jarred Brooks is already eyeballing championship gold.

Jarred Brooks bested Lito Adiwang at ONE: Next Gen III via arm-triangle choke in the second stanza of their contest. The Monkey God took to his personal social media to ask his fanbase what’s next for him in ONE Championship.

Brooks seemed to appreciate the medal he was given after the Adiwang win. But is also yearning for a reward of a heavier and more lavish persuasion.

Jarred Brooks is looking to sling himself into title contention and specifically mentioned the connection Lito Adiwang has with current ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio. Adiwang is a training partner of Pacio as both men hone their skills at Team Lakay.

Brooks mentioned he doesn’t want to play the Kazushi Sakuraba role to Team Lakay’s role as the Gracie family. Just that fighters from this certain gym happen to be top-ranked guys in this weight category who are standing in the way of Brooks’ career aspirations.

ONE Championship has Adiwang presently ranked number five at strawweight.

Jarred Brooks also mentioned a desire to fight the number three ranked strawweight Hiroba Minowa should the Pacio title fight not come to fruition.

Brooks has not tasted defeat across his last five fights over the last three-plus years. The former UFC vet has also tested skills in Rizin, Pancrase, and Bellator to name a few.

ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio last competed at ONE: Revolution. The champ retained his hardware by stopping number one ranked Yosuke Saruta. This came via strikes in the first frame of their September title bout.

Brooks certainly has some top-notch options for his next foray into the ONE Circle regardless of who it ends up being.

How do you feel about a Jarred Brooks vs Joshua Pacio fight for the ONE strawweight world championship?
