Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill rebooked for UFC 265 on August 7
A huge strawweight bout is on the table for the upcoming UFC 265 event on August 7. Former title challenger Tecia Torres will be taking on Angela Hill for a possible title contender position in a rescheduled bout. The location of the event is not determined yet, however, Florida, Arizona, and Texas have been the only places, along with Las Vegas to hold fights of late. The news was first reported by MMA DNA.
This fight between Torres and Hill was originally set up for UFC 256 back in December, however, Hill was pulled from the fight due to a coronavirus diagnosis. Torres stayed on that card and went on to defeat Sam Hughes by first-round TKO. After dropping four in a row, Torres is now in a two-fight winning streak and working her way back up the rankings. Currently sitting in the number ten spot, Torres needs to keep her trajectory in the right direction and make her way back up to the top of the division.
As for Hill, she is one of the most active fighters on the roster. In 2020 when some fighters sat on the sidelines, Hill fought four times. She has already fought once in 2021, a win over Ashley Yoder in March. Hill is one of the most talented fighters on the roster but she has had difficulty making her way up the rankings. The mix of wins and losses have put her up against some of the toughest the 115-pound division has to offer.
UFC 265 will be headlined by a bantamweight matchup between champion Amanda Nunes and Julianna Peña. In addition, the fight card lineup is as follows:
