Tim Tszyu Overcomes Adversity; Defeats Terrell Gausha via Unanimous Decision

Tim Tszyu made his United States debut yesterday against fellow super welterweight contender Terrell Gausha at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

By the end of the first round, it was not looking good for the 27-year-old Australian. Gausha put Tszyu to the canvas early and continued to lay it on him throughout the first round.

As the fight progressed, Tszyu showed grit and expertise throughout the remainder of the bout. Tszyu was able to score a knockdown himself and put on a masterclass performance which led to a unanimous decision victory over Gausha.

Despite the questionable scorecards (116-111, 115-112, 114-113), the right guy walked away with the win. With the victory, Tszyu will remain at the top of the WBO super welterweight division and will hopefully be fighting for a title soon.

In July, WBO champion Brian Castano will take on WBA, WBC, IBF, and The Ring champion Jermall Charlo in a unification bout. Following the outcome of that fight, we may see Tszyu against one of those men.

But for now, Tszyu can celebrate a fantastic performance and a win over solid opposition in Gausha.
