Titan FC 56 results – Soares vs. Whitney for featherweight title

Titan Fighting Championship officials will hold Titan FC 56 on Friday, August 23. The event, which will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass, takes place at Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The stream will begin at 8 p.m. ET.

In the main event, Titan FC featherweight champion Jason Soares put his title on the line as he squared off against challenger, Andrew Whitney. Whitney was cut early in the fight, and Soares smelled blood.  The champion locked up an armbar in the second frame to submit his opponent and retain the championship belt.  He remains undefeated at 14-0.

The 145-pound title fight became the main event just two days ago, moving up from the co-main event slot. Titan FC lightweight champion Martin Brown was set to defend his title against Beibit Nazarov, but a visa issue kept Nazarov from entering the country.

Titan FC Kickboxing debuted tonight as Bruce Lutchmedial and Caio Uruguai competed in the inaugural bout, also billed in the night’s co-main event.  This was an absolutely insane bout and a great way to kick Titan Kickboxing.  Uruguai wins a split decision in a fight that would leave Lutchmedial in need of corner support just to be able to stand for a decision.

Following the fight, Titan FC COO Lex McMahon announced that Titan FC would be heading to the Dominican Republic in October.
