Titan FC 58 results - Rivera vs. Sabatello

Titan FC 58 results – Irwin Rivera vs. Danny Sabatello

Titan Fighting Championship holds the Titan FC 58 fight card on Friday, December 20, with bouts being broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 8 pm ET.

The event will be held at Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is headlined by a bantamweight title bout between defending champion Irwin Rivera, and challenger Danny Sabatello.

The title was recently vacated by then champion Rudson Caliocane who is recovering from a medical condition. Caliocane was injured severely injured while taking a fight with another promotion in his native country of Brazil.

Rivera won the interim title title with a liver kick over Matt Wagy earlier this year. When Caliocane forfeited his title, Rivera was bumped up to the official title holder.

After a fairly dominant first round for the challenger in Sabatello, and a little more aggression from the champion in the second, a flying knee was thrown by Rivera in the final seconds of the second frame.  The knee split Sabatello right above the eye lid and would become a center of focus for the ringside physician.  Miraculously the fight was able to continue to a third round.  The champion really came to life, attacking the body, throwing superman punches to the head.  Again Rivera goes to the body and drops the challenger to retain the time.  Big win for Irwin Rivera.

In the Titan FC 58 co-main event, professional boxer Ulysses Diaz made the crossover to mixed martial arts. He brought with him an outstanding boxing record of 12-1 with 11 wins by knockout.  It took just about half a minute for Diaz to impose his will and pick up a first round TKO win over Steve Chesnick.

Mohammed Usman, brother to UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, returned to the Titan FC cage. “The Motor” recently picked up a first round knockout win over Alexis Garcia, his second victory under the Titan FC banner this year. Usman will welcome Reggie Cato, a native of Oklahoma, to Titan Fighting Championship when these two heavyweights collide on the event’s main card.

Tonight Usman needed just seconds to floor and finish Cato.  Massive performance for the man who will likely be earning a UFC contract in the near future.

OH MY!!!!!!

What just happened?  Muhammadjon Naimov defeated Shawn Brown by way of a rear-naked choke just seconds after reversing position, getting on Brown’s back and forcing the fight to come to a close.  Brown was on top with ground and pound, working submissions as well, when Naimov was able to reverse and get the finish in just a matter of seconds.  Extremely impressive.

With close to 50 fights between them, Cristian Torres (14-10) and Askar Mozharov (18-7) faced off at 205-pounds to open up the main card on UFC Fight Pass.  Torres, taking the fight on short notice, took every advantage of the situation, and came away with a first round submission victory.  Mozharov tapped from the vicious strikes that Torres was throwing from above.
