UFC 246 results: Diego Ferreira taps Anthony Pettis for sixth straight win

On Saturday night, Jan. 18, 2020, the UFC kicks off their calendar year with UFC 246. The event takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor taking on Donald Cerrone in a welterweight bout.

Kicking off the main card is an intriguing lightweight bout between former UFC champion Anthony Pettis taking on the surging Diego Ferreira. Pettis returns to the 155-pound division for the first time since October 2018 when he lost to Tony Ferguson via doctor’s stoppage in a highly entertaining bout at UFC 229. “Showtime” would move to the welterweight division and pick up a highlight reel KO win over Stephen Thompson at UFC Nashville last March, before losing a unanimous decision to Nate Diaz at UFC 241.

Ferreira has been on a nice run as of late — in fact, he holds the longest UFC winning streak of any fighter on the card — winning five straight heading into the biggest bout of his 18-fight career. The 35-year-old Ferreira has wins over Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Jared Gordon, Kyle Nelson, Rustam Khabilov, and Mairbek Taisumov during his unbeaten run.

Here is how the main card opener between Anthony Pettis and Diego Ferreira went down at UFC 246, including round-by-round scoring. For full results of the card, check them out right here.
