UFC Minneapolis results – Dos Santos vs. Ngannou

UFC on ESPN 3, also known as UFC Minneapolis, takes place Saturday, June 29 from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The card, which was headlined by a pair of hard-hitting heavyweights was live on ESPN.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos entered the octagon on a three-fight win streak as he meets former title challenger Francis Ngannou.  It was a short-lived fight as the former champion would be dropped from strikes, causing referee Herb Dean to jump in and call an end to the contest.

Ultimate Fighter veteran Maurice Greene proved to be the larger heavyweight as he dropped Junior Albini in the very first round, followed by strikes, and moves to 3-0 inside the UFC octagon.  Greene followed up the fight and said “closed mouths don’t get fed,” and then proceeded to call out former UFC heavyweight champion Andre Arlovski.

UFC newcomer Amanda Ribas made a statement by controlling Emily Whitmire for much of the first round before submitting here with a rear-naked choke in the second.

It took just 78 seconds former football star Eryk Anders to get back to his winning ways with a massive first round knockout over Vinicius Moreira.

What a massive first round knockout win for Alonzo Menifield who moves to a perfect 9-0 when he sent Paul Craig to the canvas.

Former flyweight title contender Joseph Benavidez kept the 125-pound hopes alive with a second round TKO win over Jussier Formiga. Benavidez did not have an easy road to the win but was able to pull off the technical knockout and throw his name back into the mix for a title fight.
