Video: BROADENED HORIZIN Episode 4: Jiri Prochazka, Yutaka Saito, Tomo Maesawa, and Kenta Takizawa

History will be made at RIZIN 25 on November 21 as a featherweight champion will be crowned for the first time.

This is BROADENED HORIZIN. The MMA podcast show hosted by Drake Riggs where we chat with your favorite Japanese and RIZIN superstars… in English!

Episode 4 ended up being quite a unique one as it featured some very special guests. Along with that, it’s the first episode with an exclusively Japanese version of it.

In this episode, the show opens with Kenta Takizawa who prepares to face Hiromasa Ogikubo in the RIZIN 25 co-main event. The newly 26-year old Takizawa hopes to continue his run in the bantamweight division and show why he’s a contender.

While Takizawa is still in the midst of his career, Deep Jewels atomweight champion, Tomo Maesawa, has had her’s come to an end. The 32-year old 105-pound staple took the time to share her reasoning behind retirement. Which included discussing her great sendoff title defense at Deep Jewels 30 against Hikaru Aono.

One half of the inaugural RIZIN featherweight title tilt, Yutaka Saito, also joined the panel.

Saito most recently debuted in RIZIN with a fantastic win over Kazumasa Majima at RIZIN 23 in August. The win was so good that it earned him a title shot in the main event slot against one of Japan’s biggest stars, Mikuru Asakura.

And last but certainly not least, Jiri Prochazka took the time to catch up.

The Czech Republic native is the first and only RIZIN light heavyweight champion and fought in the promotion from its very beginning in 2015. Now, Prochazka has since taken his talent to the Octagon where he debuted in July with an emphatic knockout of Volkan Oezdemir. Next, he’ll look to knock off the recent two-time title challenger Dominick Reyes in a February UFC main event.

“Denisa” previewed the fight and assessed the top of the division, and even reminisced about some of his RIZIN memories, and pointed out the differences between it and his new fighting home.

All that and more on BROADENED HORIZIN! Watch the full episode in the video above or you can listen on the Loudmouth MMA Podcast Network.
