Video: BROADENED HORIZIN Episode 5: Kyoji Horiguchi, Hiromasa Ougikubo, Rina Panchan, and Kyohei Hagiwara

This is BROADENED HORIZIN. The MMA podcast show hosted by Drake Riggs where we chat with your favorite Japanese and RIZIN superstars… in English!

It’s that time of year once again. 2020 is winding down and to close things out in the world of MMA, we’ll be treated to another awesome New Year’s Eve event. This year it’s RIZIN 26.

In episode 5, bantamweight staple Hiromasa Ougikubo joined the lineup fresh off of his co-main event victory at RIZIN 25. He recapped the rebound performance against Kenta Takizawa and reflected on his loss to Kai Asakura which sent him to “rock bottom”.

To follow up Ougikubo, kickboxing’s brightest female star, Rina “Panchan” Okamoto detailed her most recent victory as well. In addition, Panchan discussed the severity of her injury sustained in the November 8 win over Mari in the Rebels 67 main event. The Japanese striking sensation also pondered the possibility of what it would take for her to transition into MMA.

Kyohei Hagiwara also stopped by after a blisteringly quick and violent 22 second knockout of Yojiro Uchimura at RIZIN 25. The bout was Hagiwara’s third of 2020 and he already has No. 4 set up as he’ll welcome Ren Hiramoto to MMA on New Year’s Eve.

And last but certainly not least, the former king is back!

Former RIZIN and Bellator bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi previewed his massive rematch with Kai Asakura and detailed his recovery from tearing his ACL—along with giving his thoughts on Deiveson Figueiredo and American Top Team teammate Kayla Harrison.

All that and more on BROADENED HORIZIN! Watch the full episode in the video above or you can listen on the Loudmouth MMA Podcast Network wherever you find podcasts.

RIZIN 26 starts at 9:00 PM PST on December 30 and will be broadcast live in English here at the: link
