A Mountain is Coming to Karate Combat 10 Valhalla

Karate Combat took off last week for Thanksgiving with a highlight show of their best events to date in season two. The next event will be in a new virtual location with a mountainous change on commentary in every sense of the word. Hafþór Björnsson better known as “The Mountain” from “Game of Thrones”.

The promotion teased his appearance earlier in the week with a short video on social media with Björnsson simply yelling “Karate Combat!”, followed later with some video of him putting on the Karate Combat gloves hitting the heavy bag with Bas Rutten. While it would be nice to see him face another giant opponent in the Karate Combat pit, Björnsson is just joining Rutten and Josh Palmer as a guest commentator for the “Valhalla” themed event.

Björnsson is the third guest commentator to join Karate Combat this season after Marshawn Lynch and Bryan Callen. While he may not be fighting, it looks like he may be doing a little more than just commenting on the action.

Three fresh fights come to  fans for Sunday night with one competitor returning from Season one in Davy Dona. Dona broke his shin bone in the first season so the return at this event carries more weight than just earning a victory.  You can see the matches listed below:

Karate Combat 10 “Valhalla” Fight Card:

Davy Dona vs. Nikos Gidakos

Igor De Castaneda vs. “The Lion” Shahin Atamov

Franklin “The Bullet” Mina vs. Brian Van Waseberghe

You can learn more about the promotion over at Karate.com and check out their events Sunday nights, 7 PM EST on beIN Sports USA, ESPN Desportes, and right here on MyMMANews.
